I NEED a Kelly Moore Bag!

Cosmopolitan Neapolitan

This is the Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World this week:

Just looks so delicious! Here's what I came up with.

I cut some My Minds Eye pattern paper into strips and rounded the bottoms. Stamped the sentiment from a Verve set on a Spellbinders die cut shape, added a bow and some pearls. Ta da!

I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday.

Love how it all came together!

Waterspots on rainboots

I decided to ink up a stamp set that I haven't used yet from Flourishes. It's the April Showers set and I love all the versatility that it has!

The Bring Back Beautiful challenge is to only color a portion of your image. I die cut some large raindrops and colored them with copics to bring in the color. There's also a layer of Glossy Accents to give them a nice water like look.

Not totally loving this card...I had a hard time with the placement of those boots in relation to the sun/clouds. Looking at it now I think I should have put the cloud more directly over the falling droplets. Oh well.

Have a lovely Saturday! We took the baby to feed the ducks this morning. She was tickled pink at all the ducks surrounding us and laughed and laughed. Too cute!

Trigger Target: Classically Modern

The Trigger Target over at the Moxie Fab World is this lovely photo.

It's been a while since I've played along, but I had to try this one. Love the blue florals, crisp whites, that fab mirror and the pop of pink from the tulips.

I stamped the floral image several times to create a background pattern and colored in some of the flowers with a Copic to reduce some of the white space. The sentiment was stamped on a small strip of white and then it was dry embossed to give it some texture. I stamped and embossed a fringe like image with silver embossing tinsel and added a silver circle cut with a Spellbinders die to make a "mirror". The tulips were colored were colored with Copics and placed on top of the silver "mirror".

Princess Syren

I'm finally back! It has been forever since I've posted...having the baby catch a cold and then giving it to my husband and I really knocked the wind out of my sails for a while. Then those blogger issues. Ah well.

So I finally got some mojo back and wanted to play along with TGF's Royalty contest. Have you seen the June release? So cute!

I don't own any TGF princess/prince stamps so I decided to make a "Little Mermaid" inspired card with Syren crowned as the princess. She's more of a sassy princess as opposed to Ariel's sweetness so I chose some pretty papers in darker shades. Her hair and tail are paper pieced and she's wearing a little crown I made out of a corner punch. This is also the first time I've made a center step card. Super easy after watching the SCS tutorial.

I love how this fun card turned out. The Little Mermaid has always been my favorite Disney cartoon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Gift Bags

It was bound to happen...my DD caught her first cold and mommy is now starting to feel like she's catching that cold. =( So I haven't had much time to craft, but I'm going to share two gift bags that I decorated for Mother's Day gifts. One for my Mom and one for my Grandma.

First up, one for my mom.

I used some K& Company pp to cover the lower portion of the bag and some Bazzill cardstock to cover the top. I cut the scallop borders from vellum with a Sizzix die and layered them. The flourishes are cut from a Lifestyle Crafts die and the sentiment from the Flourishes Motherly Love set (Love that set!) is stamps and cut using a Spellbinders die. The finishing touch was a few Prima flowers and rhinestones.

Next is one for my Grandma.

For this bag, I layered some papers from DCWV. I then added a vellum die cut doily, a Mat Stack 4 die shape that was stamped and embossed with Hero Arts Classic Fabric stamp, and lastly a die cut circle stamped with a sentiment from Motherly Love. Quick and simple.

These will be entered into the Word to your Mother challenge at Flourishes.

Off to get some rest! Thanks for looking!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

A local camera store was offering free Mother's Day portraits today, so my Mom, Izzy and I went to have our picture taken.

We showed up at the perfect time because we didn't have to wait. That made for a better picture with my dear little one who is indeed suffering her first cold. =(

Since I knew in advance that we'd get to take a picture I planned on putting it in a shadowbox as a Mother's Day gift for my mom. Finished it just in time to give to her this evening. I think she really liked it!

Have a wonderful Mother's Day everyone!

Enjoy

I got one card finished this week.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 189 and the colors from Play Date Cafe although I didn't get this finished in time.

It was a fun sketch and I got to use some new papers from DCWV that I just LOVE. I also used one of those metal oval label holders from Making Memories that I have had forever. The ribbon "flower" is actually a clip that can be removed and worn in the hair, on clothes, etc.

Thanks for looking!

Great Grandma's Shadowbox

I haven't had too much time to craft this week with the baby teething and maybe getting her first cold. So there's been a lot of time devoted to comforting. One thing I did have to finish is a Mother's Day gift for my Grandma.

We took a 4 Generations photo at Easter. It's so hard to get the baby to look at the camera or not cry, so yay that we finally got a good one!

I used tissue paper to make the rosettes and I have to admit it was actually a little easier for me to lay them flat than using regular patterned paper. Who knew? I used die cut buttons as centers since my Grandma likes to sew. Hope fully she'll like it!

Strawberries or Flowers?

One more post for tonight...

I used the Modern Basics set from PTI to stamp the border. I intended it to look like flowers, but it sort of looks like strawberries. Oh well. I stamped the PTI sentiment and added a partial line frame. The panel is then mounted on grey cardstock.

I drew the color inspiration from this photo over at the Play Date Cafe.

Playing along with these challenges:

Make it Monday #12

Just getting a post in for the Make it Monday #12 challenge at Papertrey Ink.

I was inspired to make a card that kind of had a stained glass feel. Over at the Moxie Fab World, Cath is having a tissue paper challenge and thought that tissue paper might look like stained glass.

I used a PTI butterfly die to cut out the butterflies and then backed them with tissue paper that I had blended with some ink. I think it does look a little like stained glass. After that I stamped the sentiment and drew my line frame. I punched butterflies from the tissue paper and arranged them on the card to fill in some of the white space. Love how it turned out!

A mother's love

I finally completed a card for the Crochet Trim Color Trends Challenge over at the Embellish blog.

I made a circle card this time cutting out circles using the Martha Stewart Circle cutter. I stamped the Classic Fabric background in Memento Dandelion ink and cut a circle shape from it. I used a punched doily border that I pleated to fit around the circle to embellish behind the yellow design. I embossed a Mat stack 4 image and added a circle stamped with a sentiment. Another punched border and a crochet trim was added to ground the Mat stack 4 image. I finished off with inking the edges with PTI tea dye duo and adding teal and white pearls.

I paired up the colors with a sketch by Silke Ledlow for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge #115 this week. Here's the inspiration photos.

Easter Anya

Here's an Easter card I made using the Easter Anya digi.

I used this Mojo Monday sketch 188:

I used the Grand Labels 1 die to make a square shaped card. I also cut a smaller layer from a sheet of Basic Grey Sweet Threads patterned paper. The scalloped circle was also cut using Spellbinders dies and then the circle was embossed with a Quickutz embossing folder. Easter Anya was colored with Copics and placed on top of the embossed circle. The rolled roses were made using a MFT die and colored with some Glimmer Mists. Some layered ribbons and a stamped sentiment on a tag complete the card!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Quick post today. I made a tag using the Easter Anya free digi for my daughter's first Easter basket.

I colored Anya with Copics and used Spellbinders dies to cut the circles. The patterned papers are Basic Grey Sultry. The flower was made using PTI dies. The die cuts were embossed and the petals were curled a bit to give them dimension. Have a great Easter everyone! He died so that we might live!

Wishing you sunshine

It's been a long and busy week full of unexpected surprises. My laptop died last weekend, so I've been using my old dinosaur to check email and surf a bit. Haven't been able to upload any pics because that dinosaur can't handle the large picture files...so I've been waiting for my new computer to arrive. My wonderful hubby bought me a new Macbook Pro! Woo hoo! So I am currently typing on it now. L-O-V-E it!

I didn't get around to crafting much this week with our Anniversary, my Mother's birthday and Easter festivities, but I did finally finish one card this week.

I used my first Sparkle Creations stamp and she came out adorable. Colored her with Copics and used some Spellbinders dies to cut her out in an oval shape. I embossed the yellow cardstock with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to give some texture. I drew the cloud shapes myself and cut them out to use as accents.

I used this sketch #16 from My Favorite Things:

So Lucky

My baby girl took a rare long nap this afternoon so I got to nap myself as well as stamp!

The background of the card is covered with some kraft patterned paper. The edges of the paper were distressed with Peeled Paint distress ink and the swirl and sentiment were stamped as well. The edge was punched with an EK Success punch and a ribbon was pleated along the border. I also created some 4-leaf clovers by cutting one petal of some Prima flowers.

I used my brand new Creepers that arrived in the mail yesterday! I colored them with Copics and arranged them so it looked like they were holding hands. This will be an anniversary card for my husband. Three wonderful years on Tuesday!

Blooming Girl

Three posts in one day! I have been working like crazy to finish some cards recently and they all happened to be finished today. So here's the third for the day...

I made this card based on the sketch from MFT #15.

Doesn't she just look so cute watering her little flower? Can't wait for little moments like this with my 9 month old DD.

I used a cloud stamp from Hero Arts as a background sky with some handcut dimensional clouds and cut some grass for the bottom. Love this cheery card.

Adventure awaits

I finally had a chance to work on a card for the My Beautiful Balloon Challenge at the Moxie Fab World.

I don't own any hot air balloon stamps, so I Google searched some balloon jpegs. I printed them out mulitple times and colored them with Copics. The clouds were cut from extra pieces of the Hero Arts clouds stamp used in the backgroud. I also used the CPS Sketch #213 as a jumping off point.

Tuesday Trigger: A Burst of Blooms

This week's Tuesday Trigger over at The Moxie Fab World is this lovely photo.

And this is what I was inspired to create:

I used kraft colored paper for the background and inked the edges with green chalk ink to mimic the green moss in the photo. I stamped each flower with a glue pad and colored them with different colors of flock. I thought the flock would look more like yarn.

I then cut around the edges of the flowers and used a hole punch to make some peek through holes in some of the flower centers. The sentiment used seemed perfect...just like all the care it takes to make a handmade crocheted item.

Cardstock: Bazzill
